Those who managed to hang on through the decades of lethargic sheep prices which drove many away from the industry and now cashing on the premiums being paid at the moment which show no signs of slowing in the immediate future.

The immediate future looks positive according to most analysts despite a softer last month, with international stockpiles low and auctioneers reporting continued strong demand. With capacity and so supply down a guesstimated 50% since 2013 with the exodus of those from the industry there is little evidence suggesting that any slowdown is likely soon and current price levels are expected to remain high for at least the remainder of the quarter.

Sheep farmers are also looking to increase measures to protect there increasingly valuable stock both out in the field and during transportation.
